I had an Asus before and Rig as Sig, but am a little lost with this Abit!

Do I need to set -
Ext clock - 380mhz
Multi - 9x
N/B - Whats this?!
Dram - Manual
PCI-e - 101mhz
CPU volts - 1.475 (old rig setting)
DDR2 volts - 2.1 (as ram spec) Geil DDR2-PC6400C4
MCH volts - was 1.6v but no board. any recommendations?
Thermal Control - Disable
Limit CPUID MaxVal - Disable
C1E Func - Disable
Excecute Disable Bit - Disable
Virtualization - Enable
EIST Func - Disable
DRAM -
CAS - 4
RAS to CAS - 4
RAS Precharge - 4
Precharge Delay - 4
Refresh Cycle - 12
Write Recovery - Auto
Write to Read - 4
Act to Act - Auto
Read Precharge - Auto

I think thats all but any and all advice welcomed!

CPU volts - 1.465v
DDR2 volts - 2.1 (as ram spec) Geil DDR2-PC6400C4
MCH volts - 1.25v
Thermal Control - Disable
Limit CPUID MaxVal - Disable

Read Precharge - Auto

Any ideas?

3.6ghz is pretty hard to get with an E6600. Most topped out at 3.5-3.55ghz.

No reason not to up the vcore further since you're under water.

What about the ram? Think I could tighten that or up the voltage and go for 1:1.2 ratio?

edit - Is it worth dropping the multi to x8 and trying for say 430 - 440 FSB?

Once you have maxed out the CPU then you could certainly lower the multi providing your board can handle the higher FSB.

And lowering the multi will allow you to run the memory higher without moving from 1:1.

Right!

I think I have maxed out the CPU as I can boot into Vista with 390fsb x9 multi, volts as above and MCH inc to 1.33v but it wont run orthos stable for 5 mins!
Have tried upping the vCore a little and the MCH but still not stable, so think its best to drop it from 3.51Ghz back to around 3.4 - 3.45Ghz as it was stable at that on the old mobo.

Next then would be to try x8 multi and see if I can run it at 425fsb. Anyone got any advice for what MCH I should start around? 1.33v?

Also, Should I run the ram at 1:1 but up the vdimm to 2.2v, or you think these babies should be ok at 2.1v? timings are 4-4-4-12.

Last question, honest!!
What is a better CPU for clocking than my E6600 revB2? Am after hitting high Ghz with water cooling. Not bothered about Quad core as I only game and surf really!
Would the E6420 clock higher?

Cheers guys

The 6x50s are probably better overall as they use the GO stepping (afaik) but it's all down to the particular CPU that you get - some are great & some are dogs.

Getting further!

Had to drop high clock as could not run orthos for more than 2 mins without an error or crash!

Settings are now - 3440Mhz
Ext clock - 430mhz
Multi - 8x
Dram - 1:1
PCI-e - 101mhz
CPU volts - 1.485v
DDR2 volts - 2.1 (as ram spec) Geil DDR2-PC6400C4
MCH volts - 1.37v
Thermal Control - Disable
Limit CPUID MaxVal - Disable
C1E Func - Disable
Excecute Disable Bit - Disable
Virtualization - Enable
EIST Func - Disable
DRAM -
CAS - 4
RAS to CAS - 4
RAS Precharge - 4
Precharge Delay - 4
Refresh Cycle - 12
Write Recovery - Auto
Write to Read - Auto
Act to Act - Auto
Read Precharge - Auto

Going to try dropping my volts now to lowest with stable orthos :p
