Hi People,

Question about the above; does it work on a seperate power ring? My room (moving rooms shortly) is above my Mum's dining room. Currently, in my current room there is a 30metre Cat5 cable running from the router to downstairs through the attic and various places and it works fine.

Now here's the problem.. will a homeplug work on a seperate ring to the downstairs ring? Wireless doesn't cut it anyone, tried it before and it was slow as hell.

TIA

yes it will work unless your wiring is unusual (more than one meter for example)

many houses have one ring main or one up and one downstairs, they both normally return to one consumer unit that gives you a functional connection between rings for the homeplugs.

unless your wiring is very dodgy you will just get some loss of conenction speed by using different circuits, could be hardly anthing or quite a lot
