Quick IE8 Question.

I've just finally got around to trying it out, but I've noticed when IE8 is open task manager shows that it's running 2 instances of "iexplore.exe". Is this normal with IE8 ?

I've had a quick google and it suggests that if more then one instance is running the other might be malware, I just wanted to check to see if 2 are normal in IE8 before I go scanning for malware that might not even be there..

Appreciate any info.

Each tab spawns it's own process, which (should) stop one dodgy page taking out any other IE windows or tabs you have open.

So yes, in answer to your question, this is normal.
