I'm in a top floor maisonette, and also have the loft. There's some foam insulation in there, above my ceiling. It looks as though the initial installation was about 100mm thick, and someone has done a botch job of topping that up to 270mm. There's a lot of insulation up there, but it's a real mess, isn't well laid, etc.
In a fit of productivity (and feeling cold) I've booked someone in to come round and sort it out either by re-laying what's there, or putting new stuff down. My question is, basically, is it worth it? Will turning thick but badly done insulation into thick but well done insulation make a noticeable difference?
