Hello all,

My first years insurance is nearly up and without a doubt i'll be changing company, i've got two questions.

1) How do I transfer my NCB? Do I need to provide evidence to my new insurer?

2) What would be the best option if I wanted to continue to insure my current car for a couple of months perhaps, but was then going to change my car? Would you just stay with the insurer you are with now, or insure your current car with your expected new insurer, and notify them of the change?

1) In my case they sent me the proof and I had to pass it on.

2) Depends on what the quote is like and whether or not it's worth cancelling.

Your renewal document from your current insurer is enough evidence of NCB assuming it shows it (which it should)

I swapped form my Focus to the S2000 and change insurers, cancelled policy, £15 admin fee, refunded the remaining months worth of insurance.

1: If your renewal notice doesn't show your NCB, you can ask them for confirmation, and they will send you a letter to pass onto your new insurers.

2: It would be worth looking at all options... your existing or future insurer might have a silly premium for your new car (or even not want to insure it at all).

Cheers

I haven't had the notice yet, it's due to expire the end of September so I guess it'll be shortly.

I guess if I find the best quote for that car i'm looking to get, and maybe insure my current car under that company if I need to, and then change the car?
