My insurance renewal is due on the 8th April.

How long before the renewal date do you usually get the renewal letter?

Thanks

It used to be 3 weeks according to the guidelines but now its a bit fuzzy as they say "in good time" - which could mean anything!

Any broker/insurer worth their salt should be getting the quote out to you a good 2-3 weeks before its due!

Thanks very much! i thought I had it by now last year that's all. Shall keep an eye on the post!

My insurance is due around then as well, I hope mine comes with at least 1week for me to go through all the insurance companys for a cheap quote again

Don't wait for your renewal documanets to arrive.
Your insurance will have gone up for no apparent reason.
So, add 1yr to your NCB (from last year) and start shopping around now.
Then, once you're renewal forms arrive you'll be able to throw them out and go with the much cheaper quote you've found.

yeah ive done that already and they are all coming up £100 more than I pay now that's why I want to know what my renewal is. I did a quote with my current insurer and its coming up roughly the same so I'm probably staying with them unless they screw me over with the renewal.

that doesnt always work, insurance companies rates change on a daily to weekly basis, which is why quotes have an expiry date, by all means shop around but its worth re doing the quotes when your renewal docs arrive to make sure the prices are still accurate
