Hi guys,

Is it possible, for instance to to have a working line at home with Broadband on for Internet access and then take my router to another place which has a broadband enabled line, plug the router in and will the internet be working?

Does it depend on the ISP? The line?

Would that work?

Thanks

some isps require you to login, some don't. you might have to change settings on the router but it should work.

(assuming your router isn't tied to your isp. some are)

So long as the line doesn't require any form of authentication it should be as simple as plugging it into the uplink port on the router.

Depends on the service, ADSL would be ok in some cases. Cable also in some cases.
Some ISPs require PPP authentication for ADSL, often cable providers use a MAC address lockdown. Both of these will requre settings changing on the router to get up and running.
