Hey guys,

I have a machine at work that isn't part of our internal network. It is sitting on it's very own ADSL line (we had a spare one) that I remote on to from home.

How can I find out what the public IP address is of my home without being at home?!

I've checked the the router log and sadly it goes back to 9am this morning!!!

Cheers in advance

Tristan

Maybe your ISP will be able to tell you if you phone them and give your details? I know the first line guys at O2 can connect into user's routers and they would be able to check so hopefully your ISP will as well.

Cheers.

I don't really want to call sky as I have changed my router (breaking the T&C's) so I'll just leave it.

Cheers for the replies anyway guys. :)

Would dyndns (or similar) help? You set up a free dynamic dns account, e.g. for yourname.dyndns.org, then either use your pc or router (if it has the facility) to keep them updated with your current external IP.
A quick ping to yourname.dyndns.org from anywhere would then show what it is.

I use dyndns on the machine at work. It's great.

I keep meaning to put it on my machine at home but keep forgetting!!!
