Quick lappy advice needed please

Hey

A mate is going to buy a new lappy today, and i was wondering if the :

- Asus AMD Athlon Turion64 MT32 - XP Home (A6U-B104H) (LT-096-AS) , Price: £504.95 (£593.32 Including VAT at 17.5%), with the 1.6ghz turion (this week only offer)

OR

- Intel duo-core 1.66ghz laptop, with the same memory, hard-drive space and graphics specs as the asus one above.

Which one would you recommend, as i would think that the duo-core is a significantly faster processor than the 1.6 turion.

Go for the Intel, they're the king of laptops tbh

Clock for clock the 1MB Turions perform on par with the Dothan Pentium Ms

The new Core chips are faster though, especially the Core Duo

I'm amazed that it's the same price as the Core Duo laptops are usually somewhat more expensive. Definitely go for the Cure Duo laptop!

well on the special offers page there is an asus lappy with a 1.6ghz 1mb l2 cache processor, and another with a 1.8ghz 512kb cache. I was thinking that a lappy with a duo-core for the same price would be better.
