Quick Laptop Mobo Question

Hey guys,

I am trying to replace the DC input jack on my Dell Inspiron 1545.

I done it the other day but when i out the whole laptop back together it doesn't work.

My question is if i get the motherboard out, check its seated correctly and then plug the power supply back in will the light come on and power up ? The RAM, CPU and HDD won't be plugged in, i'd only plug the power switch in.

I just don't want to put everything back together to find out it still isn't working

Yeah, the machine will power on but Id leave a stick of RAM in just to get to BIOS. Did you replace just the jack or the power PCB? Are you sure the power PCB was plugged back in? Also, the power button ribbon cable under the keyboard?

yeah, i am replacing the DC Socket VGA and USB piece on the side

and i think i plugged the power button back in properly thats what i wanna find out tbh !
