Quick Live Subscription question

Just need to clarify that if I currently have a prepaid 12+1 Gold Subscription, which is due to end next month, it will automatically switch to a Silver account.

I understand the hassle that occurs if you have paid for the sub by credit/debit card, but if it is a prepaid code that was used it should be fine, shouldn't it?

if you used a pre-paid code from a scratch card etc then your account will revert back to a silver account when your sub runs out.

as you rightly said, you only tend to get hassle if you purchased your Live sub via the marketplace and used your creditcard as it auto renews

Yes it will revert to silver if you used a pre paid card. Not sure what would happen if you previously had a credit card on file though.

I had a CC on my sub and it wanted to auto renew it. I had to call MS and they had to cancel my account so I could remove the Card that was on my account and give me a free month so I could then add another 13 month code via scratch card. All pretty seamless and straight forward and MS were quite helpful even though I was reluctant to call them in the first place. From now on my account will revert to Silver should I now want to renew in June 2010.

Mines always auto renewed had the account for 3 or 4 years now, i just make sure the cc details are always valid.
