Essex, innit?
Trying to help my missus with a School report thingy.

The kids did a test last week. I need a quick way to create a table with their exact ages at the time of the test.

i know their dates of births.

I started in Excel:

Kid Name / DOB / Date of Test / Age

Thinking that Excel would let me input the two known dates (DOB and Test date) and then I could subtract one from the other, giving the childs age.

But it won't.

Anyone know how?

I don;t want to do it manually; there are 90 kids!

I think you have to surround the dates with hashes then use a formula like =(DOB-date of test) but i could be talking utter crap.

Age in days, or date format?

The date columns are in Date Format.

I need the kids' ages in years and months...

But if I enter the dates, and subtract one from the other I get 1909 so some silly number like that...

Nah, see that's what I've done, but it's meaningless.

I've found out that you can do years or months by: =YEAR(c4)-YEAR(b4) for example using YEAR or MONTH, but I can't do a combination.

I guess I need months, then divide by 12.

Seems a bit long winded.
