This is probably the most newbie sounding post ever but please advise.

I had 4gb OCZ2P800R21G (4x1Gb)

One stick has died and until i upgrade i want to fill the empty slot (to get by basically)

My question is (or are)
a) does it have to be the exact same memory i put in (ie model number etc.)
b) does it have to be a 1gb stick or can I put in something else (like a 2gb or 4gb. Not sure if thats even possible)
c) should i be that embarrassed about having to post this question

Thanks in advance

It depends on motherboard, I'll assume you have a relatively modern one for this.

a) No
b) I think you have to have a 1gb
b) No :P

But if you are replacing it, make sure it has the same or more Mhz rating.
