My current spec is as follows:
A64 3700+
Asus A8N-E
1800XT
1GB (2x512) Geil PC3200 Golden Dragon memory (Dual Channel)
Now this system is running pretty well (at stock) and I know it will overclock a wee bit (had it up to 2.8 on air, stock volts) when the need arises; so I don't feel the necessity to upgrade the whole lot just yet. However, I do think that I would benefit from 2GB of memory (especially in BF2, Oblivion, etc); but I don't really want to fork out approx £160+ for a matched pair. So my questions are,
Can I just stick in a PC3200 1GB stick (from Corasir for example) along side the two existing 512's?
Can I still run in Dual Channel mode? if not, would I see a dramatic decrease in performance?
