So I'm looking at this:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/benq...kmGjRumQ3-xTWaaPTlXBRId_lov-tnxxoCbv0QAvD_BwE

Anyone got any experience with it? or am I missing a trick with a better model?

I want it to work on (connecting up a macbook pro) and for gaming on, with a STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING GC

At the moment I run it on rubbish, but I quite like the look of a 2k...

I don't play many FPS games, mainly city builders and the like.

Any quick Yays, Nays or are you mad get this?

Budget is constricted to around 220.

What is the ideal gpu to monitor cable type for it?

A displayport 1.2+ cable is necessary for FreeSync on NVidia cards, so that's the ideal type. Good idea to make sure it's no more than 3 metres in length too as signal tends to degrade at longer distances.

Thanks Vexr

well, yes, but no.
since nvidia was forced to make their gpus freesync compatible i'll still call it freesync :p

Sorry but where does it say in the review that that monitor is G-Sync compatible ? all it says is (supports FreeSync) I'm curious as some FreeSync monitors are but not all are

nvidia likes to confuse their customers, they've got a few tiers of "gsync" now:
1) gsync - the ones with the module
2) gsync compatible - the ones they say "work"
3) variable refresh rate - the ones they haven't said will "work"

this monitor comes under (3) - but it still works.

So, according to the Nvidia subreddit, the VWFD8 works with gsync on.

Excited. Will have to try when I get home! :D

There's a listing with the bog standard VWF, but it wasn't filled in properly...but I don't see why it shouldn't work, if its twin sibling works with gsync.

just tried the new driver.
can confirm the VWF and VWFD8 works with gsync at its full range from 48-75Hz via display port. :)
tried this: https://www.testufo.com/gsync#photo=quebec.jpg&pps=960&framerate=ramp&compare=1

EDIT: with the VWF, the ghosting is perceptibly worse with gsync on though... :( (good thing it's my secondary monitor lol)

my nvidia control panel on the vwfd8:

No lol my point was that VA Panels do have ghosting issues , and that I had had a VA Panel ( not the above) :)

I should have been more clear, it's ok I'll get me coat .
