Quick Monitor Question

So I'm looking at this:

Anyone got any experience with it? or am I missing a trick with a better model?

I want it to work on (connecting up a macbook pro) and for gaming on, with a STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING GC

At the moment I run it on rubbish, but I quite like the look of a 2k...

I don't play many FPS games, mainly city builders and the like.

Any quick Yays, Nays or are you mad get this?

Budget is constricted to around 220.

I had seen a second had samsung 27 1080 144hz quantum dot monitor for around £200 but I was worried about the resolution

Hmm having trouble getting this to run at 75hz... but I'm on an hdmi cable, would it be more likely to work if I switch to display port?

The monitor's HDMI port is 1.4 and can do 1440p @ 60Hz.

Newer HDMI 2.0 would be able to do more. But you can just use Display port.
