Sorry I know this must have been asked a million times before but I couldn't find the answer with the search terms I used.

I'm needing to RMA my ASUS P8H67-M B3 and while I've ghosted my drive for when it returns, I really don't want to do a clean install in the meantime while I wait on the RMA.

So, would I be able to uninstall the chipset drivers, then swap in my old board/CPU/RAM (an ASUS P5K-SE/Q6600 system), and have an at least functional system that I didn't need to reinstall everything on while I wait on the new board?

Windows 7 is pretty good with adding new hardware.
As long as its not an OEM version of windows I can't see why simply adding the old bits to the PC and installing their drivers wouldn't work straight off. probably wouldn't need to uninstall the other drivers at all.
