Quick MS Word doc question re:edit protection

Hi ppl,

just wondering how you can save a word doc do that it cannot be edited by anyone else. Sending out some docs by email and i dont want people using the 'undo' thing to see what I altered.

You've got a few options here. In Word 2003 there's an option to "protect documents" so that no one other than the original creator and specified users can make changes to the document.

Also, go to Tool, Options and Security and look at the options in there.

You may also want to look at this tool for removing the document metadata such as tracked changes, revisions etc:

And of course there is the time-honoured method of Ctrl-A and Ctrl-V into a fresh document, then saving the new document :)
