I broke my 470s as per other thread.

Strapped for cash atm and thinking the power edition might clock close to a 770.

Only problem is they are EOL so can't add another next year and would have to go maxwell. Where a 770 let's me add another card at rock bottom prices when maxwell comes out.

Either card would eventually be watercooled.

680 has batman which I want. Ah just realised so does 770!

Only a few left, dunno what to do.

A 770 only seems slightly faster than a 680?

Play at 1080p

Cheers

Woah Yeh very good deal there.

My only problem with a 670 is its essentially the same performance to what I just had.

That power edition 680 is a lightning PCB and as such the old LN2 BIOS can be downloaded to play with volts.

My problem with the 6 series is underwater offers little advantage as OC targets are power based on Boost 1.0 as opposed to temp on 2.0

Previously my plan was to wait till Hawaii 25th launch and hope 770s fall in price a little?

No offense, but neither 680 or 770 is gonna make a big difference if you are coming from a card at the level of 670.

GTX780 is the only way to go (if ignoring the high price), or wait for AMD top-end Hawaii card that's coming next month or so (NDA lifting on 25 Sep) and hope that they offer similar performance to GTX780 but at more affordable price level.

I'm coming from two heavily overclocked 470's that actually beat 670 performance.

Just opened a letter, I KNEW I paid too much tax last year:p HMRC to the rescue, have sent me a very nice cheque.

Still I don't want to waste money on GPUs.

This week only £293 on a third party cooler 770...might be worth pushing boat out...

or wait...til 25th...

That is a good price for a 770, but wait until the 25th. AMD might still surprise us?

I am inclined to agree Retro, its just one week away.

Who am I kidding I really want a 770 and boost 2.0 to play with underwater

PS you can flash the 770 lightning bios too ;) still says it a 680 but you get Boost 2

Well I have done so but before I did I made sure the memory could run at over 7000 stable The 680 power edition is a 680 lightning all be the name

@ Kaap and you have seen the bench score with it running with hi memory

That's a remarkable BIOS flash in this day and age.

I remember trying to unlock my 6800GE (12 cores) to 6800GT (16 cores) but my card was a duffer and wouldn't do it:(

I am all for modding and value for money, props to you but it seems far safer to get a 770 fit for purpose and gives me more options next year.

Cheers Jerry, its waiting till 25th that is hard now and even then it will be a paper launch so NV might not need to alter pricing at all!
