Debating getting this phone on Orange (TV on the go! what will they think of next) within the next hour so the the missus can have my 800i.

Are there any major flaws or excellent selling points with the phone?

Cheers

It can be a fairly typical symbian phone - bit slow at times - occasional lockups.

Battery life is a bit on the low side as well.

And the worst bit for some folk is the orange sidebar on it - no way to turn it off unless you have it flashed with generic firmware.

On the plus side - loads of apps for it - good camera - looks nice :)

Also if you order online with orange atm you get a 1 gig dv rs-mmc card for free :D

Make sure you have a good read of a few of the online reviews. At the end of the day it's your choice - it's a very flexible phone in terms of what it can do - but it does have its issues as well.

I'm pleased with mine so far and have even gotten used to the orange software.

Oo btw if you buy it online you also get a 3 month trial on orange world with a 1gig limit on downloads overall in that time.

I got myself and N70 on O2. I can say it is a very good phone but slow when you want to go to the messaging or gallery. I does speed up if you go to these sections quite often, I dont know if it has it in a cache of some sort but if you dont use it for a while then I will take some time to load certain sections.Hope you get what I mean.?

The camera is of good quality and has good mp3 playback. The video is good aswell very smooth and clear but like other phones if you move the camera around fast it can get pixelated and blurry.

Plenty of options like organiser etc as you would have expected from todays standard in phones. Video calls are good. I have had a few with my mate. Voice calls are clear with out any audible crackle or loss of signal (might be Service Provider dependant).

All in all I recomend this phone. Probably one of the best out at the moment. I find the battery life is good unlike what Gravity mentioned in his post. I have had my phone on for over 7 days, with Bluetooth consistantly on and still had 3 levels of power left when I decided to charge it.

Hope this helps you decide.. If you have any more questions let me know.

My comparison on the battery was with my old k750i. The talktime on that one was phenomanal(sp?).

Quoted talktime for the specsheets for each phone are n70 at 3.5 hours and k750i at 9 hours.

To me that is a bit on the low side, depends on what you are used to previously I suppose. :D

Can't really fault the N70 apart from it's lack of speed on occasions. It's my first symbian based phone and I'm well impressed overall :)
