Hi all,

Quick question on a new build (transferred from bundles forum). I put together a new PC over the weekend:
  • i7-4790K @4.0 turbo to 4.4
  • Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 7
  • H110i GT
When I started looking at voltages and temperatures I found that 'optimised defaults' automatically set VCORE at 1.308V. This meant topping out at 61C on 5 RealBench runs. This is even after I flashed the BIOS to F7 (the latest).

This seemed rather high so I've dropped the VCORE down to 1.19V and it seems to be stable enough. But is there a normal stock voltage I should be using? And are there other voltages I should be checking / resetting?

Thanks in advance for any help!

61c isn't too bad, but 1.3v ono is high at stock. Strange that the latest bios hasn't lowered it as its a known issue that early bios revisions overvolted a fair bit. Iirc both 4790k's I've owned used around 1.200v at stock.
