Asrock board just died, gonna order a new mobo withinn 30mins , asus or giga :confused:

e6600 and 6400(800) ram , looking for stability and a 3ghz oc

Asus for the 1:1 RAM divider, I don't think the Gigabyte comes with it as there's a thread about the very subject.

3ghz = 667mhz ram at said devider, the 2.5 devider on the gigabyte would mean the memory shall run at 833mhz, pretty sure it should be capable of that.

Gigabyte, purely because the vdroop is aweful on asus boards.

Ah come on guys!
1 recommendation for each board, kinda swayed to the giga for the solid capacitors and stuff, but theasus has 1:1

It's capable yes, but it means there's less headroom for overclocking unless you have sick RAM.

And just how bad is the Vdroop? :)

Get the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R iG33 Express, has the 1:1 divider and less vdroop, although to be honest the Vdroop is only really noticeable once you start to crank up the voltages.

Plus the DS2R is only like £3 more than the S2 now from most retailers.

Thanks for the input, ended up going with the gigabyte, also grabbed the new zalman 8700 and some ballistix ram as it was on sale.

Board quality is great, no 1:1 divider tho  but systems happily running at 3.2 :D

Is there not a new BIOS to add 1:1?

Well i was expecting a 1:1 divider as i remeber reading it was only the 800fsb chips with no1:1 , im running the latest F5 bios and theres deffo no 1:1 in the bios.
Not spent to much time reading up on it tho so coulda missed a beta bios or something, dunno :s
