ok so im trying to overclock my e6400 on a p5b deluxe mobo ive followed this guide

http://http://www.thetechrepository.com/showthread.php?t=41

ive set the cpu settings only cos i dont wanna o/c anything else yet

i get my ratio of 8, so i raise my cpu frequency slightly and run a benchmark, i have prime. then if stable i raise more and run prime again and so on. when unstable i raise the cpu vcore voltage slightly.

am i wrong in any of this?

i have stock cooler on cpu but hear i can get decent clocks anyways

any input would be great

There is a good guide for overclocking here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17612922.
You might have more luck with a question in the Overclocking and cooling section.
Try to find someone with the same board and cpu, to give you some useful settings.
Have a look to see if there is a thread on your type of motherboard, this can be extemely useful.
Other than that, keep chipping away, have some fun, i'm sure you'll get some good results.
