Quick one - Install IE 8 and still use IE 7 : Y/N?

I don't know why it took so long but this morning my "Updates are available" warning bubble popped up and it told me that IE 8 was ready to be downloaded as a Windows Update.

Now, if I click to download the update, once its done and installed can I still use IE 7 when I require to?.

Doubt it, I expect it will overwrite IE7.

Since IE8 was released I've switched to Firefox, can't stand IE8.

Ah well, I'll forget it then. Need to keep IE7 installed for cross browser compatibility checking for web design and dev.

I'll update one of my laptops here with IE8 but leave my main design system alone.

Pity no one has come up with a working Vista version of Multiple IE yet.

Why not use the App Compat Virtual PC images Microsoft make available for that very purpose then?

Either that or wait until IETester updates and you have 5.5, 6, 7 and 8 in the same app (and yes, it works on vista) http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage

Why not use something like IE Tester for the compatibility checking?
