I have a Opteron 144 CAB2E and GEIL Value 3200 ram.

What is the maximum Ghz i can overclock my CPU to before i have to start fiddling around with dividers etc? 2.0 Ghz, 2.2GHz?

Thanks

Ben

at stock settings my geil value managed only upto about 215. just put the timings at 2.5-3-3-7@200mhz with volts at 2.7 (i think it was) then put on a 150 divider and wack up to 280mhz fsb. This will lock the speed to 200mhz

? my geil value does over 225mhz @ t1 @ cas 2.5 @ 633 or whatever it is, in dual channel mode... with only 0.1v boost...

my other set of geil i had previously also did 250+ no probs...

i think you underesitmate geil

No just going by my experience of them from the stuff i owned, maybe they are a lot better these days. I had it maybe 12-18 months ago.

Geil Value for the win. It should be able to do to at least 220MHz, with 2.7V I can run my 2gb set @ 216MHz, 2.5-3-3-6 timings :)

and whats with the negative post counts? lol

Mine runs on 225MHz, 2.9 Volts. For some reason it won't actually touch 226Mhz without loads of trouble an dinstability! Its decent RAM for the price.

Well using a divider managed to get my Opteron running stably at 2.7Ghz at 1.42v. At full load on air it didnt go over 44 degrees. Dam these processors are good.
