Does the autoarchive feature in Outlook '07 backup everything - or does it just move files of a certain age?

Basically, I want my machine to automatically backup all my Outlook e-mails, every night, onto a USB flash drive....without any prompting. What's the best way to do this?

Hmm it depends how you're saving them now, if you have a POP3 account then it's probably downloading to PST file locally on the machine, if you back this file up to your USB hard drive it would be a backup of all your email.

All the autoarchive feature does is moves emails of a certain age to a PST file, and even then it works on email modified date instead of the date the email was sent or received.

Is there a way I can make Windows 7 to this automatically for me - so I don't forget?

Do you need the file on your PC & on the USB stick?? If not, then just move your PST to the USB stick and launch Outlook - it'll complain it can't find the PST then point it to the USB stick.

It won't be backed up then though will it? he'll only have one copy :P

Hence the question preceeding the solution. It maybe that he simply wants it saved away from the PC incase the PC fails.

Granted it simply moves the point of failure to the USB drive, but that maybe acceptable to the OP.
