Hi guys,

I Sucessfuly overclocked my Q6600 to 2.7ghz last night and overnight ran a stress test with no errors. Spec as in my signature.

I want to get upto 3ghz and when i set it up to as I want it, I save the configuration and then the bios switches back to 2.4ghz. Is this because I havent upped the Vcore enough? Or is it down to something else?

Heres how I set it (might be slightly out as I'm trying to remember what I set)
FSB multipler = 9 x 330
Memory Multiplier = 2.4
Vcore = 1.375

Your help is much apreciated.

Just out of curiosity, I'm got same mobo as you and clocked mine up to 2.7 at the weekend, using stock cooler. How have you set your voltages? I just changed mine from manual to auto in the bios and it stressed ok. Was suprised to be getting same max temp of 40 degrees as I did on stock clock.

If its set to auto then you will be running at 1.32 i beleive which is the bottom end of what the processor will run on. The heat wont increase unless the vcore is upped. My 2.7 clock was unstable at stock vcore but worked great when i upped it a little.

So I could just leave it set to auto then and see how far it will go without increasing the temp to much, bearing in mind still on stock cooling. I haven't managed to connect up fmy front 120mm fan yet, but have the 2 rears extracting. I guess hooking this fan will only help cool down internal ambient temp. Bedroom it's in is quite cold so also guessing that might be helping.

Its i was recommended to change the voltage to manual, even if you only leave it at stock.

anyone got any idea on my problem?
