Quick P8Z68-V question

I got my new motherboard through today, and the tranquillo rev2 heat sink to go with it. Do I need to a fix the backplate on to the motherboard for this?

Been so long since I last built a computer I'm forgetting the odd thing!

Yes the backplate is for all the diffrent socket types.

It is difficult and stiff to do just be gentle when pushing the leaver down. As long as the cpu is sitting in the socket correctly it should be fine.
