Quick packaging question

OCUK just shipped me a 2500k that was sandwiched between two pieces of foam, and in a cardboard box. No other packaging.

Looks a bit dodgy, even for an OEM. I always ship CPUs inside those little plastic cases you get inside retail boxes (they're cheap as heck). Isn't there the risk of static damage or similar from having the naked cpu on foam?

About twice as big. Pretty sure the cpu can't move about in it. Just seems a bit dodgier than what I'm used to. Last time I bought an OEM cpu it came in a plastic case in a foam block in a cardboard box.

I always thought the oem CPU was sandwiched between two pieces of foam and put in a box which is the same or very slightly larger than the CPU - almost like a jewellery box size.

Might be worth posting a note in the customer section and they might be able to change the packaging in the future.

Yeh that's what mine is packaged like. That's fine then, I'm sure it's been provne to be a reliable form of packaging, just not what I've seen before :). I'll be able to test it on Sunday. Cheers!

Ive bought a few oem cpu's from various shops, ocuk included, all have just came in a small box between pieces of foam.

This.

Although i did have the one exception (no names mentioned) when one was delivered in bubble wrap and surrounded by copious amount of sellotape making it almost impossible to get out.
