quick photoshop question

If i load a black and white photograph into photoshop what do i do in order to be able to add colour to the image ?

I have a photo of some people and I want to colour their faces bright yellow yet im not given an option to use colour.

sorry for the noob question but then I'm a noob to photoshop. :D

Set the foreground colour to your choice. Use the brush tool & set it to "colour" or you can use the Colour Replacement Tool also.
