Hi folks,

Just had my labret pierced (had it done before years ago but got rid of it) and it's all gone swimmingly so far (couple of hours ago)

Anyway, for work I need it to be discreet, so I've quickly unscrewed the steel ball and replaced it with a small clear plastic cone, so for now it's barely visible. I've made sure everything is clean and as 'sterile' as possible.

Just need to know if there are any adverse effects for using the plastic end piece on the jewellery whilst healing? I'm fairly lucky this time around, it seems comfortable already, little swelling and no bleeding :p

Yeah but the daft college children i see with this kind of crap tend to overbite it and play with it between there top lip.

Well luckily i'm not a daft college child :p

That can't be much worse than chewing on a biro anyway.

Just need to know if a plastic outer bead will be problematic or not? Anyone?

No it'll be fine.

I have a labret too. Never had to hide it but I've tried to to see how convincing it is. Best thing ive found is to get an internally threared stud and have no bead on it. The plastic will be fine but if your concerned you can get Bioplast ones.

Most materials are fine especially on the bead. The stud qualtiy is usually all that is important. Quartz is also anorther popular clear material for retainers.
