Quick Plez question

I have a NUC which I've installed in my bedroom and went to download Plex but the website keeps insisting I download the server application when I only want the client app.

If I log in then I can see my server through a web browser but I find it a bit awkward.

In the living room the PC under the TV has a desktop icon for Plex.

Maybe try the Plex home theatre client !! not sure what a NUC is tbh so it might not work.

A NUC is a very small form factor PC so Plex Home Theater will work fine.

I understand the op's confusion as the Home Theater download doesn't stand out if you're looking for something with 'client' in the name.

I couldn't work it out so lifted the setup file off one of my other machines.

However, I put Plex on my daughters Roku and it seems to run large MKV files without issue so I might just bin the NUC for a Roku. I also put the Plex app on my Smart TV and that also seemed happy enough with MKV files.

I didn't realize their was a client app? Ive always used the web login to access my Plex out of the house. I would have suggested turning down the quality which i have had to do on my Mac Mini (server). The fans spool up like theirs no tomorrow when i start to play anything then comes the buffering. I thought that would be strong enough. Never have trouble now using the Chromecast int he bedroom.
