Quick Pointer For Microphone Setup Please

Just got myself a Logitech headset with microphone because I want to get onto the OCUK ArmA II multi-player mainly.

Nobody seems to be able to hear me and I have no experience on how to get the microphone to work. Googling has brought up about 3 million hits, of which just under 3 million seem useless.

Does anone know a link on how I can get the thing set up, for instance if I need some extra software downloading or other stuff? That'd be great.
 
So I should actually be able to plug the phones in (USB) and it should work?
Recording in WINDOWS works fine so the problem seems to be elsewhere.
What's with this Teamspeak thingy? I've heard about it, but I'm not sure exactly what it's there for or what it does.
 
OK, thanks for the info.

Just one thing though: Does anyone know how or where I can test whether my mic is actually working or not? Nobody has given me any spoken response, and typed messages have been unclear as to whether I was meant or someone else.
