Quick power supply to gpu question

In the process of building the pc - the gpu has 2 x power connectors on it - do they both need a power supply - the supplied chinglish instructions aren't that clear!

GPU = Palit GTX460

the psu has two 6/8 pin connectors - would really appreciate a quick reply!!
