Quick PSU Check

Hi,

Got a new PC in the procss of being built and am using the old PSU from the old PC to power everything.

Given the unpicking to do my dad has suggested using his old PSU (which is quickly available) to run the new machine and the old PSU to power his PC.

New PC is a C2D 4600 and my dads using C2Q.

PSU's available are Noisetaker 475W with 16/15A on the 2 12V lines and the Corsair 620 with 18A on 3 12V lines.

Anyone advise?

The corsair is the better of the 2, but both will power a 775 set up no problem, I've been using a 465w Noisetaker for 3 years, only got the Corsair as it was free and modular.

Both should be fine. I've run Core 2 Duos with 380W PSUs before.

Went with the corsair in the end as it's modular and going to power a 9800GT and getting stuffed in a Silverstone SG01...
