quick PSU question

top 5 brands...what are they? cheers guys....(im looking for about a 400w for new rig..gona overclock a P4 dual core)

Tagan, Seasonic, Antec, Enermax.

Q-TEC are rubbish, Hiper have been known to blow up.

as far as these brands go.....same high quality is maintained through all lines right...not just the higher wattage ones?

If you want absolute quality for all wattage, aim for Tagan or Seasonic.

What I have heard of NorthQ, is that they're quite good in terms of that they're very quiet and have all the connectors you could possibly need.

In terms of reliability, I'm not too sure. But, the fact that I haven't heard anything bad about them can only be a good sign. I'm not sure how they fair up on case tidying either.
