Quick psu question

Just been offered a corsair Cx500 psu from a friend for £15, it has been used for a year but still works. Will it be ok to run my pc? (specs in sig). Just need one to tide me over till payday so I can get a decent one.

My pus just randomly stopped working, everything else does work fine though, have I been lucky here? Because I've heard that if your pus dies it can brake other components, what's the likelihood of this?

Specs no longer in sig.

AMD 8350 - R9 270X - Asus M5a97 Evo - 8gb ram

For 15 quid i would get it.
if it dies later then it shouldn't be a problem being a branded psu.

Should be fine for what you have but try to resist getting the urge to crossfire :-)

ran a slightly bigger cx in a dual 6950 system a while ago with a i5 2500k and it worked fine

no overclocking or anything special but it did the job

I'd rather trust a cx over some blah brand make in a budget situation and for £15 you can't really go wrong... pending it actually works
