Quick pump inlet/outlet question

Hi all. My pump and res combo has 1 outlet and 2 inlets. I have a tube going to one of the inlets and one to the outlets, with a cap on the unused inlet.

My question is - can i add a ball valve to the unused inlet as drainage, or is the 'inlet' internally arranged to allow water flow in only one direction?

Never mind, found out on reddit: Yes you can.

Add it where ever you like yes, the water will flow where it can regardless.

Although typically you want it at a low point to drain all rads... worth considering how they would drain.
