Quick Q, best card <£50?

Haven't really looked at graphics cards for a couple of years.

Can someone tell me which the best few cards are for <£50? Applications include Linux and Windows 7, BluRay playback and light gaming. When I say light gaming I'm talking about relatively low res RTS kinda things, not 50fps+ FPS.

At that price you are looking at 5550 from ATi and GT 430 from nVidia.

Not sure which one is better. The 5550 should be similar in power to the old 4670 and maybe the 38xx/29xx series.

The nvidia one should be slower but i am not really sure. Google some reviews! Other than that, the Ati one is fan less, and seems to need good airflow in order not to ovear heat or a spare fun to strap on.

Edit: Yes, linux support is apparently better with nvidia, not tried it myself though.

Think you could probably pick up a 4870 for £50 these days, sold one myself on the bay £70 6 months ago.
