Quick Q for a friend... Honda CBF125 / CBF125 Stunner

Purely cosmetic by the look of things, the "Stunner" lacks the chrome exhaust trim & black springs of the CBF125 so essentially they're pretty much the same bike apart from the rather iffy branding of the "Stunner".

EDIT upon a quick google its an Indian only model, which was discontinued last year so I guess this is old Indian stock being sold in the UK.

All the CBF125's are made in India, but there may be a more significant difference than just cosmetics. In India the "Stunner" is available in carburetored and fuel injected versions. The carburettored version is not officially sold in the UK/Europe due to emissions regulations.

The fuel injected version is called the "Stunner PGM-FI" and from the pics I can find has a "PGM-FI" sticker on the grey plastic side panels. The ones on eBay don't have this sticker, so it would be worth clarifying with the seller if they are fuel injected or not.

That said, the eBay bikes are significantly cheaper then the UK models and the fuel injection on the CBF isn't particularly reliable so personally I would be quite happy to have a carb'd version.

Heh, don't think I'd ride a bike with Stunner down the side, bit vein :p

I've got a 62 plate and love it.

Thanks for the input guys :)
relayed it to my mate and sent a Q on eBay.
Would there be any warranty implications if they were indeed imported?
Did a quick tax check online...

Vehicle make HONDA
Date of first registration 11 July 2014
Year of manufacture 2014
Cylinder capacity (cc) 125cc
CO₂Emissions Not available
Fuel type PETROL
Tax class BICYCLE
Export marker No
Vehicle status Tax not due
Vehicle colour GREEN
Vehicle type approval Not available

Appears they were made and registered this year.
Just wondering if they are indeed the carb'd version if come MOT it would instantly fail?

You wouldnt get any manufacturers warranty on any vehicle that was unofficially imported from outside of the the EU or bought from a non honda dealer.

The recourse would be to the the person that sold you the vehicle, which would be a complete waste of time.

Confirmed:
Carb'd
No warranty, and suggested we speak to warrantydirect, stating the warranty woudl cost approx £150.
Full certificate of conformity meeting all UK MOT regulation
No MOT needed for 3 years
Unable to deliver

Think it's worth the hassle?
He's currently using a Piaggio Typhoon 125 Martini Racing Edition but wants a change.

Think it's worth the hassle?.

Surely only he can answer that, but before he does anything at all, ide get onto warranty direct & explain the situation to them import wise & make sure they'll cover it & at what cost, don't leave it to the seller to provide vague advice in that respect.
