what's the general consensus about charging up the wireless 360 controller?

charge it as soon as the lights start to spin or leave it a while?

only reason i ask is that the lights started to spin on my controller, but the xbox guide meter said it still had half power, but i'm guessing if anything is going to know when it's low on power it's going to be the controller ;)

how long do you get once the lights start to spin before it switches off altogether?

i think the 50% thing is just to let ya know but i did plug mine back in after an hr or so of those lights still flashing :)

My charge cable is permanently plugged into my PC, whenever I'm not at the 360 I leave it charging.

The first few times I left it until the pad no longer turned on, but now I just recharge it after the lights start spinning.

I found the guide meter to be very inaccurate, it sometimes drops down to 1 bar on mine without the lights even spinning, then next time you check it will be back up to 2 or 3 bars and you will still have a week or so's play out of the controller.

What he said :) Its very hit and miss.

I like using standard rechargables in mine tbh, when the batteries die you just swap out for a new pair and carry on playing without any cables :) Then before you go to bed, you just recharge the batteries.

The spinning lights really get on my charlies. Especially if i'm playing with my room quite dark as I can see them flashing just at the bottom of my field of vision. Therefore I charge it as soon as i've finished playing after noticing the lights.

Ok, since there is a topic here about wireless pads... a friend of mine is trying to convice me to buy one along with the 2 Wired pads I already own., He tells Me that the wireless pads feel a lot better in your hands extra...

I have only used one a few times around his house, what do you guys think? worth it?

Not really if your happy with your wired ones.

right come on own up who finds/found it odd having a wireless controller. I always stand up and flick my wrist as if to get the cable outta the way and im forever putting it down and spinning in room trying to find it again.

I found it really cool :p
Started moving around in ways that would never work with a cable, saying 'wooooo no cable, its mental'. One of the best inventions for a console in a long time, a wireless controller that feels great, and has almost perfect button placement. I only say 'almost' because no matter how perfect something is, someone usually improves upon it at some point.

The freedom rocks, but if I already had 2 wired controllers, I couldn't justify £30 on a third controller this soon.

that sounds VERY familiar! If my wife needs to walk in front of the TV while I'm playing she still takes a big step as though she's stepping over the cable :)

and thanks for all the replies guys!
