Quick Q on removing plug on flat screen TV

A Quick Q for those of you whom might know...

(google and the manual has failed me)


Are there any warranty ramifications/consequences if I cut/remove the plug on my new Sony flat screen?


I want to pass the power cable through a wall to a point on the other side.

Yes - I was surprised that this was hard wired too - its brand new and a new model.

I think running a socket back through the wall is the best option just in case!
