Quick Q on the WRT54GL...

Does it have , clone MAC address?

I need it as i am in uni halls and they dnt like you adding hardware

Its brother the WRT54GS had it so i presume so.

I didn't think Tomato was supported on the GL?

Either way, It's made of linux so you can definitely spoof MAC addresses if not in the firmware, via the linux underneath.

am told the GL is one of the best, as my last GS v6. was crapp it would diconect online games and stall other games connections. i bought it as a friend had one that worked perfect later to find out it his was a v1.1.
So am told the GL is almost identical to the v1.1 ?

Im also thinking of replacing my WRT54G with the L version as my laptop seems to be taking ages to connect and my admin page never works, i have to do a hard reset evey time i want to change anything.

I've been thinking about Tomato for a while as I've got a brand new WRT54GR sat under my desk....... only to find it's unsupported

what version of the 54G do you have?

if it's 1-4 then Tomato will work fine on it (mine is)

The WRT54GL is identical to a WRT54G v4.

Its the v7 i think. it 100% cant use 3rd party. Its a great router but im sick of the lock ups.

I think it may be becuase its sitting on my V+ box which generates a good bit of heat.
