Planning to get a 720p TV for my 360, but my sister will want to use her PS3 on it also, just wondering if the PS3 can downscale games from 1080p or will I have to let the TV do it? If it can is it any good? I've heard it doesn't have very good scaling capabilities, nothing compared to the 360.

Thanks.

But I'm talking about downscaling not upscaling :p

I know the PS3 only has upscaling for certain 720p games, I was just wondering about downscaling 1080p games to fit a 720p TV.

Also what about upscaling 720p to 768p, can it do that? Like on the 360 you can select optimum resolution which sets it to 1360x768, scaling it up from 720p itself instead of allowing the TV to scale.

I know, I'm simply wondering if the PS3 can downscale 1080p games to 720p. If it can't, I'd have to tick 720p and 1080p in the settings, so the TV could downscale 1080p games to 720p. But I'm wondering also if that would also mean the PS3 would upscale 720p games to 1080p if supported because 1080p was ticked? Meaning the TV would then have to downscale the upscaled input to 720p.

Also with regard to blu ray, apparently the PS3 can't downscale blu ray to 720p, so the TV will have to do it, meaning I will have to have 1080p ticked? Or is there some kind of seperate setting?
