Quick Q regarding SLI/Xfire temps

Hi,

I recently decided to try 2 x R9 280's in my case, however the highest GPU would occasionally hit 99oC and it was noisy as hell (gigabyte R9 280x). There was obviously a benefit running in Xfire FPS wise, but I couldn't put up with the issues of heat and noise, let alone AMD drivers.

So, I'm thinking the Giga 780's in SLI, would these be any different in terms of noise and heat. I can find plenty of reviews of a single card and can see that it does do better in terms of heat, but cant see any noise feedback.

FYI, Im running a Bitfenix Prodigy M, not the best case for airflow but I'd love an SLI setup and am fed up of sending stuff back because I'm not happy or its not what I expected.

Thanks

Which 280's?

The giga 780's might run a little bit cooler individually, but.. You are SLI'ing two cards that blow their heat back into the case. That means you need to have a side exhaust or something to get the heat away; otherwise you will end up with the same result as with the 280's, sooner or later.

The 280's provide more power though.
