Hey guys!

I've been flirting with getting a tablet since the Touchpad sale, but haven't really got around to it yet. If I did, I would be using it (a lot) for typing on - mainly MS Word. How do you guys get on with doing typey worky stuff on tablets?

I have a feeling that they aren't great for typing on. :(

I'd agree, I have a Blackberry Playbook and paired with a bluetooth keyboard (& mouse) its great for text entry but I'm not so keen on touchscreen typing.

Best option is the Transformer/Prime or just a laptop really.... I don't believe that a tablet is yet capable of properly replacing a laptop/netbook for things like MS Office.

I have a transformer and keyboard and I love it but the office equivalent software isn't that great yet. If it will be used for full on work I wouldn't go it alone. At the time I bought my transformer I bought my business partner a nice laptop. We are now getting her a transformer and me a new laptop. It's not quite there yet, so if we are travelling and know we will be doing extended work, we still want a laptop. If I'm going to be typing emails, looking at existing documents or creating very basic documents (don't expect a full report template with loads of styles and tables to behave or a really complex excel model with tonnes of sheets not to get a bit funky) the transformer is up to it.
If anyone has found new office apps which are better I would love to hear about it

I typed a 1500 word university report on my iPad without much bother. It is annoying trying to format though with all the tapping so I left that until the end, but actually doing the work was fine. Maybe I've just taken to touch keyboards better than most.
