quick Q... which one?

a C2D is faster clock for clock and the e2180 can reach speeds of over 3GHz when overclocked especially when coupled with a p35 based MB.

haha 'MAD ' al have to look into that one...

anyways... just a throught, if i wanted to OC the C2D ad most proberly need to buy a better heatsink, and am on a tight budget (not my PC) so myt be better with the AMD aka MAD? =)

As others said, if you're overclocking definitely go Intel, if you're not the AMD might have a very slight price/performance edge. If you check the E2180 threads you'll see that people are getting decent overclocks even with the stock cooler. The MAD(:p) is also a decent clocker although it won't go anywhere near as high as the E2180 will with a good heatsink.
Both platforms have a decent upgrade path althout the Intel's is better given the performance of the current AMD quad-cores.
