Hi,

My missus had already been to the registry office and sorted all of her side months ago, I left mine a little fine but went at the start of Jan and applied for mine as I am registered in a different council.

The thing is I was told to come and collect my notice from my local office on the 11th Feb, but the missus thinks there should only be one notice and she was told to collect it from hers.

I tried to call my office but the people on the phone aren't helpful and just say all the info is online however I'm finding it hard to clarify.

The wifey called her office and told them what I was told, they informed her that her notice is still coming to her office.

Sorry for all the rambling but I have a simple question...

- Are we both meant to collect separate notices or is there only one? If only one, why did my office want me to come in and hers are also telling her to come in?

Thanks :)

Odd, I thought you had to do it together. I did late last year and we had to go together and answer a load of stuff to verify we actually knew each other! Our notice was displayed as a single document.
Maybe its different if you both live in different counties or council areas.

Ah ok, thanks. Yes, I think as we live under different councils we have to go seperately, I got asked questions and had to make sure my answered matched hers exactly (even though she got my job title wrong haha).

But you only recieved a single document? Hmm... I wish my council would just clear it up for me but they don't seem to want to :(

Do you mean the marriage schedule? As there's no such thing as a marriage notice from what I can see, you fill in your notice of marriage forms submit them to the registrar covering the area where you're getting married so both your forms would have gone to the same place and then you're issued a marriage schedule.

Were doing ours next week, both have to go at the same time. Not looking forward to the questions my memory is terrible, im likely to get all of them wrong.

You don't receive any document afaik. You both give notice and that's it.

I remember having to go to separate councils too but I cant mind if there was only one notice or not and my wifes not in at the minute. I know that doesn't help at all. :D

Haha not really :D

It's nice and simple, just know each others job titles and DoB and things like that, nice and simple :)

I think that could be the case if it was posted directly to the place performing the register, but I opted to pick it up as I thought it would be less worry.
