Hi guys,
About to purchase a PS3 when I noticed that a HDMI Cable isn't included.
Question is, do I need to pay £15 for the genuine one or can I get away with purchasing a cheaper one that has good reviews?
Cheers in advance for replies :)

Expensive HDMI cables are a scam. Buy the absolute cheapest you can find. I'm sure I got one off the bay for about £1.99 delivered before.

Some dirt cheap HDMI cables may not work in AV units/amps which is something to look out for and keep in mind for future if you have any problems with them.

All HDMI cables are same quality. I remember an article where a audio expert with an expensive home speaker system get a fancy £300-ish cable and a coat hanger he bent into shape himself. After rigerous blind testing with about 8 people there was barly any difference, and when there was, it oddly favoured the coat hanger.

It's a major scam these super expensive cables, it makes zero difference on any level. All HDMI cables are made they same, the expensive ones just use better materials, but HDMI has error checking and multiple leads so it really makes zero difference.

Expensive hdmi cables are a scam ass the signal is digital theres no audio / visual loss.

The diffrence in cheap / expensive speaker wire is astonishing . if you have hi end audio equipment you will understand .

It is true that there is no image quality difference between a cheap cable and the most expensive one you can find because the electronic signal is interpreted as digital so the data transfer successfully or is doesn't at all. However a cheap cable will be more susceptible to electronic interference just as a cheap SCART lead would. This could lead to data errors when the signal is interpreted on the other end.

Error correction is pretty good though and the signal would have to degrade quite a bit before corruption to the signal is evident.
