Quick question 6970

Just installed 12GB Ram and now installing a 6970. Getting a loud well, whine is all i can describe it as. Suggestions?

Oh also do i need both 8 pin and 6 pin power connected?

Does it sound like the humming/whine you hear from power substations? or like a worn fan belt? or like a circular saw?

Internet browsing really jittery since installing 6970 and aero performance in windows index is 2.7? What have i done wrong?

Bah, Windows 7 got borked somewhere during 11.12 install. Had to reinstall Windows but all good now.

Thermaltake 875watt, i have a feeling its down to the mobo. My mobo has 8 pci e slots and can be fussy. Think i just had it in one that was not assigned correctly. Will have a look tonight when i can turn the PJ on.
